Weber River Rafting in Utah
Weber River Rafting trips are fun and interactive floats down the mild class I and class II rapids between Henefer, Taggart, and Morgan, Utah. Operated by Destination Sports, the oldest rafting company in the area, and the go-to for Park City rafting trips, we have been excelling at guided river rafting trips since 1976!
If you are looking for the best way to get out and enjoy nature this summer, one of our rafting float trips may be exactly what you’re looking for. Rafting the “Mighty Weeb” is an excellent option for families with children as young as 4, small or large group activities, river newcomers, and experienced nature lovers.
The mild rapids of the Weber River have great splash potential and are separated by pleasant stretches of calmer waters that are ideal for experiencing wildlife viewings, including eagles and other raptors, great blue herons, sand hill cranes, ducks and mallards, river otters, beaver, deer, and even the occasional moose. There are also plenty of opportunities to splash and get your partner wet!
All of our river guides are experienced and licensed through Utah State Parks. Safety and fun are our top priorities.
We use paddle rafts with 2 – 6 guests in each raft, plus a guide. Each guest has a paddle in their hands. The guide sits at the stern of the boat to steer and calls out paddle commands. You and the other guest paddlers on the raft will paddle together to navigate and propel the raft downriver.

We can take children as young as 4 years of age, and a minimum of 35 pounds, on the rafts.

You will most likely get wet. Your feet will definitely get wet. We recommend that you wear quick dry clothes, and water sandals or other shoes that can get wet and will stay on your feet. You will also want to bring a change of dry clothes for after the trip.
If it is a cool or rainy day, then bring a fleece jacket and/or rain jacket.
-
We encourage you to bring a full, reusable water bottle to reduce waste. But we do have disposable water bottles available for purchase at the river.
We recommend wearing sunscreen or long sleeves and pants, to prevent sunburn.
Sunglasses and sun hats, with retainer straps so they won’t fall off, are also recommended.
-
Anything you bring with you on the river will most likely get wet, and could get lost or damaged. With that in mind, if you do want to bring a camera, then we recommend using a waterproof case with a strap or clip. We do have some waterproof cases for sale at our Weber River Base Camp.

Class I, Class II, and a lower Class III. These rapids are not big and scary, but they have good splash potential.
If you love getting out in nature and want to enjoy a casual float trip that is appropriate for all ages and abilities, then this is a wonderful experience! However, if you are a thrill seeker and are expecting Class IV and Class V rapids, then you will need to drive a few more hours away from the metro area and will need to pay quite a bit more for your tickets to raft on a bigger river.

Yes, it is possible, but doesn’t happen all that often.
Our guides will provide a safety briefing before your float trip. You will be instructed on how to prevent falling out, and what to do if you happen to fall out of the boat. -
It is possible, but extremely unlikely.
We do not intentionally flip the rafts. -
Not without special arrangements.
Under normal circumstances, you must be able to get yourself in and out of the boat, walk up and down rocky slopes to get in and out of the river, sit in the raft, and paddle.
If you are unable to perform any of these tasks, please call us to discuss the specifics. We can make special accommodations for some situations, including extra staff and/or a different type of boat set-up.
-
Yes. We primarily offer paddle rafting. The guide sits in the back of the boat to steer, and calls out paddle commands. All guest passengers hold a paddle and respond to the guide’s paddle commands, working together as a team to propel and navigate the boat down stream.
Exceptions can be made for small children or guests with disabilities, but we must discuss and arrange for this in advance.
-
The Weber River is a relatively small river. Stream depth varies based on water flow and location. It can be shallow enough to wade, or deep enough to be over your head in some places.
-
No. All guests must wear a Type IV Whitewater rated PFD (personal flotation devise). Utah state law and our insurance company requires this.
For your safety and comfort, we provide the appropriate type of life jacket. Our guides and staff will ensure that you have them properly fastened at all times when on the river.
We clean every life jacket in an enzyme cleaner between each use. So you don’t have to worry about the previous guest’s stink and germs.
-
Alcohol is not allowed to be brought on the rafts. You will be busy paddling, anyway, and won’t have time to drink or a hand to hold your drink in.
If you’re having a meal with us after your river trip, then you may bring alcohol to enjoy with your meal. We can chill it in a cooler for you at our Base Camp while you float on the river.
We do not have a liquor license, so we cannot supply any alcohol.
